18 Days and Still Counting: The Unstoppable Rise of Lokah: Chapter 1 - Chandra

Okay, so I was looking at all the news articles and stuff, and it's wild how much money this movie is making. On its 18th day, which was a Sunday, it's like... it had a really, really good day. I saw something that said it made Rs. 6.85 crore just on that one day. Can you believe that? My friend said movies are dead, but this one's, like, proving him totally wrong. I think it's because it was a Sunday, so everyone was, like, free to go to the theaters.

Anyway, this massive Sunday collection has pushed its total so high. I'm pretty sure it's over Rs. 119 crore in India now. Like, I saw a report that said Rs. 119.58 crore which is just... a lot. And get this, it totally went past that big Mohanlal movie, what's it called? "L2: Empuraan"? I think it was that one. It's like, "Lokah" is the new king of the box office! It's so cool because it's a superhero movie, and it's not even one of those big Marvel ones. It's a Malayalam film!

And the worldwide numbers? Oh my gosh, they're even crazier. It's, like, over Rs. 250 crore. I saw the exact number somewhere... I think it was Rs. 252.1 crore? Yeah, that sounds about right. This means it's now the second highest-grossing Malayalam film ever! It just beat "Manjummel Boys" which everyone was talking about a while back. So now it's only behind "L2: Empuraan." Wait, no, I think "L2" is actually ahead of it with something like Rs. 268 crore. Man, the numbers get confusing! But the point is, "Lokah" is right up there.

I heard the movie only cost like, Rs. 30 crore to make, so they're making a huge profit. It's all because of the good reviews and the fact that it's a whole "cinematic universe" thing with different chapters. They even brought in Dulquer Salmaan and Tovino Thomas. I'm a huge fan of both of them, so that's a genius move, honestly.

So yeah, in short, "Lokah: Chapter 1 - Chandra" is a total monster at the box office. It's making way more money than anyone expected, and it's a really big deal for Malayalam cinema. My cousin said she's going to watch it for the third time this week, which tells you all you need to know, I guess. I should probably go watch it soon, too, before it leaves the theaters and I have to wait for it on some streaming service.
