So, Mena Massoud, the guy who played Aladdin in the live-action movie, and Emily Shah, an actress who was also Miss New Jersey USA a while back, got married in Italy! Specifically, in the beautiful, sunny region of Tuscany. Can you imagine? So romantic.

The wedding was in July, but they only just shared the news this weekend, which is so smart because it keeps all the news outlets on their toes, you know? They did a whole joint Instagram post with a video and captioned it, "The wedding of our dreams." Adorable.
The coolest part is that they had not one, but two ceremonies to honor their different backgrounds. Mena's family is from Egypt, and Emily's dad is Gujarati Indian while her mom is American. Talk about a culture mash-up! It's so cool they did a Hindu ceremony and a Christian one.
For the Hindu wedding, Emily looked like an absolute queen in a red sari. It was a custom Arpita Mehta design, and she even wore her grandma's bangles. I love when people do that! Mena looked so sharp in a cream sherwani by Manish Malhotra. The video showed all the fun stuff, too, like a dhol and a whole baraat. I bet that was a sight to see in the Italian countryside.
Then, they had the Christian ceremony, which was officiated by Mena's childhood priest from Toronto. For this, they both wore white. Emily had on a stunning gown by Lihi Hod, and Mena wore a custom Zegna tuxedo. He also had on Christian Louboutin shoes and a fancy Audemars Piguet watch. So, so stylish.
They met on a dating app for artists back in 2018, and they got engaged last December in Japan on Emily's birthday. They were gonna get married in six months, but then they decided to take their time and plan the dream wedding. And wow, did they ever. I'm just looking at the pictures and the food looked amazing, with wood-fired pizza and a live-made millefoglie cake. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.
It's just such a fairytale, right? From a dating app to a wedding in Tuscany that blends two different cultures. It shows that true love can happen anywhere and looks like anything. They are seriously giving me hope for my own love life. So happy for them!
