Ah, man, let me tell you about the box office for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba The Movie: Infinity Castle on its second day. I was so excited for this, you have no idea. I even wore my Tanjiro haori to the theater. It was a little embarrassing, but hey, gotta show your dedication, right?

So, the first day was, like, totally bonkers. I heard it made a whopping ₹13 crore in India, which is just insane for an anime movie. Like, I remember when Mugen Train came out, and everyone was surprised by how well it did, but this one just blew it out of the water.
Now, for Day 2, which was a Saturday, everyone was kinda expecting a drop-off, you know? That's what usually happens. But nope! The movie just kept on going. The estimates I saw from some of the box office tracker sites—I think one was called Sacnilk or something like that, which sounds like a funny name, Sac-nilk, ha!—said it pulled in another ₹13 crore. So, like, the same as the first day. How wild is that? That brings the total to a massive ₹26 crore in just two days. That's, like, a whole lot of money. My bank account wishes it looked like that.
I also saw some stats about the occupancy. The morning shows were pretty full, and then the afternoon shows were even more packed. But then, there was this weird thing where the evening shows had, like, 0% occupancy? That can't be right, can it? I mean, who goes to a movie at night? Okay, wait, no, I think the report was just missing data for that time or something. Yeah, that makes way more sense. The night shows were back up again. So, don't worry, the Demon Slayers were still slaying the box office at night.
And get this, the Japanese version with English subtitles was still the most popular. It earned way more than the English or Hindi dubs. I guess people really want to hear Giyu's real voice, which, you know, is totally understandable. I mean, the original voice acting is just perfection. I almost cried when... well, I won't spoil it, but let's just say a certain Hashira did something super cool.
All in all, the movie is a huge success. It's totally rewriting the playbook for anime in India. I hope this means we get more anime movies in theaters, and maybe they'll even start selling matcha-flavored popcorn. A guy can dream, right? Anyway, I'm off to watch it again. Hope they've fixed that 0% occupancy thing!
