Woah, what a crazy opening day for The Conjuring: Last Rites! I've been following the box office numbers and it's just wild. The new movie, which is, like, the last one for Ed and Lorraine Warren, totally surprised everyone.

Let's break down the money it made on Day 1. It's so cool how this horror flick beat out all the other big movies that came out at the same time.
US Box Office:
Okay, so, in the USA, The Conjuring: Last Rites had a super strong start. It raked in a massive $30 million on Friday. Can you believe it? That's way more than what the studio, I think it was Warner Bros., was even predicting. They thought it would only make maybe $35 million over the whole weekend, but it made almost that much in one day! It also made a ton of money in Thursday previews, which was a record for the franchise, at $8.5 million. That's so much money, like, what do people even do with all that cash?
India Box Office:
This is the craziest part! I heard that The Conjuring: Last Rites was a huge hit in India. It opened with a net collection of ₹18 crore, which is like, a lot. It totally beat out the local movies that came out on the same day, like Baaghi 4 and The Bengal Files. It's apparently the biggest opening for a Hollywood horror movie ever in India. I think it even beat some Tom Cruise movie, which is just insane. The occupancy was like, super high, especially in places like Hyderabad and Bengaluru, which is awesome. People really love their horror films over there, I guess!
Worldwide Box Office:
For the worldwide numbers, the day-one total is still kinda being counted, but the movie is expected to have a huge first weekend. Projections are saying it could make around $115 million globally by the end of the weekend. It opened in over 60 countries, and it's doing so well everywhere. That's a lot of tickets sold, and a lot of scared people! It just goes to show you that even though this is the last one, people still love the Conjuring series. It's a sad but also really cool way for the Warrens to go out, you know?
