Oh my god, did you hear? Rani Mukerji is finally coming back as the badass cop Shivani Shivaji Roy! Yash Raj Films (YRF) just dropped a massive update yesterday, January 10, and it’s honestly the best news to start 2026.

Originally, Mardaani 3 was supposed to come out on Feburary 27 (I think that was near Holi?), but they’ve preponed it! Now it’s hitting theaters on January 30, 2026. I’m so glad we don't have to wait another month lol.
What We Know So Far
The new poster they released is super intense. Rani is holding a gun and looking absolutely fierce, and behind her, there are a bunch of young girls with "MISSING" stamped over them. It looks like this time she's going after a huge kidnapping or missing persons ring.
Here are some of the cool details:
The Vibe: Rani herself said the movie is going to be "dark, deadly, and brutal." If you thought the first two were heavy, this one sounds even more insane.
The Director: It’s being directed by Abhiraj Minawala (he worked on Sultan and Tiger 3 I believe).
The Cast: Besides Rani, Janki Bodiwala (the girl from Shaitaan) is joined the cast. People are also asking who the villain is, but YRF is keeping that a total secret for now.
The Story: It’s basically a race against time to save scores of missing girls. Classic Shivani Roy style—no mercy for the bad guys!
Why the Date Change?
Apparently, it’s a strategic move to give the movie a "clean window." By releasing on January 30, it gets about two weeks of solo run before Shahid Kapoor’s movie O'Romeo comes out on Feb 13. Smart, right?
I’m honestly just happy Rani is back. She just won a National Award for Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway last year, so she’s on a total roll. I hope they release the trailer soon because the poster isn't enough to satisfy my curiosity!
