OMG, you wanna know about the first-day collections of that Lokah: Chapter 1 - Chandra movie? The one with Kalyani Priyadarshan? Yeah, I saw some stuff about it. It came out during Onam, which is a good time for movies, right? Like, everyone's on holiday and has nothing to do but watch films and eat sadya.

Okay, so I remember seeing a report that it made a pretty decent amount on day one. I think it was somewhere around Rs 2.60 crore net in India. Wait, no, I saw another number too. Like, Sacnilk said it was Rs 2.7 crore. Hmm, that's not too far off, I guess. It's close enough for government work, as they say. The numbers always kinda jiggle around a bit anyway, it's not like they have an ATM machine counting it for them.
And it was apparently a good thing for them because it's Mollywood's first female superhero movie. Isn't that cool? Like, finally! The reviews were super positive, especially for Kalyani Priyadarshan. Everyone was talking about her, like she's a real-life superhero. And the VFX and stuff, they said it was so good it looked like a Rs 300 crore movie, not a regular Malayalam one. Imagine that!
Now, get this, it was up against a Mohanlal movie, Hridayapoorvam, on the same day. And that one, with the big superstar and all, apparently made a little more. Like, maybe Rs 3.25 crore or something like that. So Lokah wasn't number one on its first day, but still, a really strong opening, especially for a new kind of movie. I heard the night shows were packed, like almost 80% full in some places. That's a good sign, right? People are liking it and telling their friends. So the word-of-mouth is strong. I bet it will do even better over the weekend. I mean, who doesn't want to see a superhero? Especially a homegrown one!
