Man, oh man, where do I even begin with this one? The India vs. UAE match in the Asia Cup 2025 was less of a contest and more of a demolition job. I mean, I've seen some lopsided matches in my time, but this was just... something else. It was like India decided they had a flight to catch and needed to get the game over with as fast as possible.

Okay, so let's start with the first innings. India won the toss, and Captain SKY (that's Suryakumar Yadav, you know, the T20 batting genius) decided to bowl first. Smart move, as it turned out. The UAE batters came out and they were, well, they were trying their best. But after a decent little partnership at the start, things just fell apart faster than my New Year's resolutions.
This is where the real stars of the show came out: the Indian bowlers. First, there was Jasprit Bumrah, doing his Jasprit Bumrah things. You know, with that weird, slingy action that makes you wonder how he gets the ball to go so fast. He got the first wicket with a beautiful yorker. But the real wrecker-in-chief was Kuldeep Yadav, the chinaman wizard. He was just unplayable. He'd bowl a googly, then a leg-break, and the poor UAE batsmen were just swinging at thin air. It was a proper masterclass in spin bowling. He ended up with a ridiculous 4/7 in just over two overs. Absolutely insane.
And get this, even Shivam Dube, who you usually see just smashing sixes, got in on the action. He bowled a few nice, tidy overs and grabbed three wickets himself. I thought he was a power-hitter, but he's out there taking wickets now, too. What a time to be alive. The UAE team was all out for a measly 57. You could have blinked and missed it. I think a couple of them even got run out because they weren't paying attention. I swear one guy was standing outside his crease chatting with the umpire and got stumped. Just proper silly mistakes, you know, like the kind I make when I try to cook.
Then came the chase. And if you thought the first innings was fast, you hadn't seen anything yet. India's openers, Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill, came out and it was like they were playing a video game on easy mode. The very first ball, Abhishek hits a six! Seriously. A six off the first ball of the innings. It was a statement, like, "We're not here to mess around." He went berserk, hitting a bunch of fours and sixes. The UAE bowlers didn't know what hit them.
Abhishek got out after making a quickfire 30, but by then, India was already practically there. Shubman Gill, who had been quietly taking singles, decided to join the party and smashed a few boundaries himself. The whole chase was over in just 4.3 overs. That's not even a full powerplay! It's the fastest T20I win for India ever, with 93 balls to spare. It was all a bit embarrassing for UAE, but you have to admire the ruthless efficiency of the Indian team. They didn't even break a sweat. I think the whole match was over before I even finished my evening chai.
So, in summary, India won by nine wickets. The highlights were Kuldeep Yadav's insane bowling and Abhishek Sharma's ridiculously quick innings. It was a total walkover, and a perfect start to the Asia Cup for the Men in Blue. They really sent a message to everyone else. The only thing I can say is, I hope the next match is a bit longer, so I don't have to scramble to find my TV remote and then miss half the game.
