Mirai Takes Box Office by Storm on Day 1, Beats Hanu-Man's Record!

From what I could gather from a bunch of different sources, Mirai had a really strong opening day. It seems like the film, starring Teja Sajja, made around ₹12 crore (that's twelve crore Indian Rupees) on its first day across all languages in India. I saw some reports saying a little more, like ₹12.21 crore net, but hey, what's a few lakhs between friends, right? One source even said ₹24 crore gross, which is even better! It's like everyone has their own little calculator.

The most interesting part is that it apparently beat Teja Sajja's last big movie, Hanu-Man, which had a day 1 collection of only ₹8 crore. It just shows how much his fame has grown!

The film did super well in its home state, with a whopping 68.59% occupancy in Telugu-speaking areas. They really love their heroes there! The occupancy numbers were like a little rollercoaster ride throughout the day:

Morning shows: 56.2% (a bit sleepy, maybe?)

Afternoon shows: 63.61% (waking up now!)

Evening shows: 70.75% (getting exciting!)

Night shows: 83.81% (full house party!)

This is pretty much what you'd expect from a hyped-up movie. People go after work and school.

In other parts of the country, the collections weren't as crazy, but they weren't bad either. Hindi occupancy was a bit low at 10.86%, and Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada were somewhere in between.

The movie also did great overseas, especially in North America. It had a fantastic premiere day collection of $394,000, which is also a record for Teja Sajja. Imagine, all that money just from one country!

So yeah, in short, Mirai had a really great first day, surpassing expectations and beating its predecessor. Now we just have to wait and see if it can keep up the momentum. My guess is it will, because people love a good action movie, especially with all the mythological stuff they keep talking about. It's a real yodha story, you know?
