The 17-Day Saga: 'Lokah: Chapter 1 - Chandra' Delivers Another Box Office Blockbuster Day!

Ugh, where's my coffee? It's too early for this. Okay, let's talk about that movie, "Lokah: Chapter 1 - Chandra." You know, the one with Kalyani Priyadarshan. It's doing crazy good, seriously. I think I saw a post about it on Instagram yesterday while I was trying to find a good filter for my selfie.

So, on day 17, which was, let me see... not yesterday, the day before? Saturday, yeah, that's it. On its third Saturday, the film did some serious business. It reportedly raked in about ₹6.35 crore. That's a huge number, you guys! It's like, more money than I've ever seen in my whole life, and I once found a twenty rupee note in an old pair of jeans.

This big haul on day 17 pushed its total India net collection to a whopping ₹112 crore! Can you even imagine? And get this, a lot of that money, like, a lion's share, came from the Malayalam version. Apparently, over ₹86 crore of the total is from just the Malayalam belt. The occupancy for the Malayalam shows was insane, like 66.89%, with afternoon shows hitting nearly 77%. That's more than my friends and I trying to get a table at a new cafe!

The movie is now climbing up the ladder of the highest-grossing Malayalam films. It's already passed "L2: Empuraan" and is now looking at "Thudarum" for the number two spot. It's even got a shot at becoming the biggest ever, which is currently "Manjummel Boys." All this from a movie that reportedly had a tiny budget of only ₹30 crore. That's some serious profit, man. Maybe I should start a production company... or, you know, just stick to finding money in old jeans.
