The Bengal Files sees a slight jump on Day 2, but is it enough to survive?

So, The Bengal Files. You know, the movie everyone's talking about, the one by the director Vivek Agnihotri who made that other "files" movie, The Kashmir Files. Man, that one was a huge hit, wasn't it? Like, ₹3.55 crore on the first day, and it just kept going up. People were like, "Whoa, this is a whole new thing!"

Anyway, The Bengal Files opened on Friday, September 5th. And to be honest, the first day wasn't anything to write home about. Like, at all. It only made ₹1.75 crore. A lot of people, including me, thought, "Oh, no. This isn't going to be like The Kashmir Files at all." I mean, some sources say it was even less, like ₹1.7 crore, but let's not get bogged down in the small stuff, you know? It was definitely not a blockbuster start. Plus, I heard they had some trouble getting it into theaters in West Bengal, which, you know, is a bit of a bummer for a movie called The Bengal Files.

But wait! Day two, which was Saturday, September 6th, things got a little... better. Not like, "Wow, this is a massive hit!" better, but a noticeable improvement. The film's box office jumped up to around ₹2.25 crore. See? That's a jump! A bit more than the first day. This is good news for the filmmakers, right? It means some people actually liked it and maybe told their friends to go see it. That's called "word of mouth," and for movies like this, that's what you need.

So, if you add the two days together, The Bengal Files made about ₹4 crore total. Or maybe ₹3.79 crore. Ugh, the numbers are all over the place, it's so confusing! One news site says one thing, another one says something else. But hey, it's in the same ballpark, so we'll just go with it.

It's still facing some serious competition, though. There's this other movie, Baaghi 4, with Tiger Shroff. He does all those crazy stunts. That movie is totally crushing it. It made ₹9 crore on Saturday alone, so its total is way, way higher. And then there's a horror movie, a new Conjuring one, that's also doing really well. So, The Bengal Files is kind of an underdog.

But still, the jump from day one to day two is a good sign. It's not The Kashmir Files, not by a long shot, but it's not a total flop either. It's just... trying its best, you know? Like, when you get a B- on a test and then a B+ on the next one. It's an improvement! And that's all you can really ask for.
