Ugh, trying to keep track of these box office numbers is a headache! It's like they change every five minutes, and all the movie news sites have slightly different figures. But here's the deal with Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra and its ninth day at the box office, or as I like to call it, "Chandra Day 9."

So, this movie, the one with the girl who can, like, do superhero stuff (I think she's a vampire or something, it's so confusing), came out on August 28th. It's already been doing pretty well, you know, for a Malayalam movie. People were saying it was going to be a big hit, and it looks like they were right!
On "Chandra Day 9," which was, let me check... uh, Friday, September 5th, the movie made a pretty solid amount. The early estimates from that website, what's it called... Sacnilk, yeah, that's it! Sacnilk said it pulled in around Rs 7.75 crore in India. I mean, that's a good chunk of change for a Friday, especially in its second week. Shows people are still really into it.
This brings the total domestic collection to something like Rs 62.45 crore. See? I told you the numbers change! One site said it was Rs 62.49 crore. Pfft, what's a few lakhs between friends, right? It's basically the same thing. Anyway, a huge part of that money came from the Malayalam version, which makes sense since it's a Malayalam film. Apparently, the occupancy for the Malayalam shows was insane—like, over 70%! That's crazy good. The Telugu version also did pretty well, with almost 40% occupancy. The Hindi one, not so much, but hey, it's new, give it a chance!
The most interesting thing, though, is how it's holding up against the new movies. You'd think with biggies like Baaghi 4 and The Conjuring: Last Rites releasing, Lokah would, you know, just die. But nope! It's still chugging along like a little engine that could. It even beat out that new Mohanlal movie, Hridayapoorvam. I mean, Mohanlal is a legend, so that's a big deal!
And get this, the worldwide collection is already over Rs 123.50 crore! I saw that on one site and my jaw just dropped. They say it's made on a budget of like, Rs 30 crore, so it's already a massive blockbuster. I'm telling you, this is a big moment for Indian superhero movies, or whatever they're calling it. It's the first female superhero movie from the Malayalam industry, so that's pretty awesome.
So, yeah, to sum it all up: Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra is crushing it on its ninth day, proving that good word-of-mouth can make a movie a hit, even with a bunch of other films trying to steal its thunder. The numbers are strong, the audience is loving it, and now everyone is waiting to see if it'll hit that magical Rs 100 crore mark in India. Fingers crossed! It totally deserves it.
