If you haven’t seen the teaser yet, you might be the only one. The announcement has sent fans into a total tailspin, and even the Bollywood inner circle is losing their minds.
The Big Announcement
SRK took to his social media to confirm that King will be "roaring" into cinemas on December 24, 2026. Yes, we have to wait until next Christmas, but the teaser makes it look like it'll be worth every second.
The video shows a glimpse of SRK in a super intense, rugged look—salt-and-pepper hair, blood on his face, and that "don't mess with me" energy. It’s being directed by Siddharth Anand, who also did Pathaan, so you know the action is going to be over-the-top in the best way possible.
Aryan Khan’s "Baap" Reaction
One of the highlights of the whole frenzy was SRK’s son, Aryan Khan. He’s usually pretty quiet on social media (classic mysterious vibe, right?), but he couldn't resist this one.
He reshared the teaser on his Instagram Story with just one word:
"Baap"
It’s the perfect double meaning—literally "Father," but also the slang for someone who is the absolute boss. Fans are calling it the "ultimate flex" from a son to his dad. Honestly, if my dad looked that cool in a movie trailer, I’d probably post the same thing.
Karan Johar Goes Full Fanboy
You can always count on Karan Johar to be the loudest cheerleader. KJo went into full "OMGGGGG" mode on his Stories. He wrote:
"The internet just broke!"
"Bhaiii you have killed it!"
It’s sweet because they’ve worked together on so many classics like KKHH and K3G (still can't believe that movie is over 20 years old). Seeing him get this hyped for SRK’s new "action avatar" is honestly very wholesome.
What We Know About King So Far
The hype isn't just because of SRK. There are some huge names attached to this project:
Director: Siddharth Anand (taking over from Sujoy Ghosh)
Main Cast: Shah Rukh Khan, Suhana Khan (her big screen debut!), Abhishek Bachchan
Antagonist: Abhishek Bachchan (playing the bad guy is a vibe for him)
Special Appearances: Rumors say Deepika Padukone and even Salman Khan might show up
Plot Vibe: Rumored to be inspired by Léon: The Professional—an assassin protecting a girl
A Few "Wait, Really?" Moments
Budget: Word on the street is the budget is around 350 crores, making it one of the most expensive Indian films ever.
The Look: SRK is reportedly playing a "sleek and deadly assassin." He has this one dialogue in the teaser about not remembering how many people he’s killed... chilly!
Suhana's Debut: This is the first time we’ll see the father-daughter duo together on the big screen. The Archies was on Netflix, so this is her first proper theatrical release.
The internet is basically just a giant SRK fan club right now, and December 2026 can't come soon enough. Even Kartik Aaryan joined in, calling the teaser "Baap" too. It’s like the whole industry just agreed that SRK is indeed the King.
