So, did you guys see what Varun Dhawan just did? Honestly, it’s actually pretty funny. You know how the internet has been absolutely roasting him lately for his expressions in the new Border 2 song, "Ghar Kab Aaoge"? Well, instead of getting all "Bollywood celebrity offended" about it, he basically just joined in on the joke.

The whole thing happened yesterday (Jan 14) while he was on his way to promote the movie at the Karwar Naval Base. He went live on Instagram with singer Vishal Mishra, and right off the bat, he was like, "I know my smile is trending." 😂
The "One-Sided Smile" Tutorial
If you haven't seen the memes, people have been obsessed with this specific "one-sided" smirk he does—apparently, it’s a look he’s been using since Student of the Year (2012!). Anyway, during the Live, he didn't just mention it; he actually taught Vishal Mishra how to do it.
He gave him step-by-step instructions:
Give a full smile first.
Then just "drop" one side of it.
It looked so ridiculous that they both just started cracking up. Varun even said something like, "I'm happy because at least the whole of India is smiling with me." You gotta respect the guy for having a thick skin, especially since people were being kinda mean calling it "cheap acting" or "over-the-top."
Fans are actually... liking it?
Usually, when a star gets trolled this hard (especially for a big movie like Border 2), they ignore it or release some PR statement. But because Varun just laughed it off, the vibe in the comments shifted.

Varun's Reply: He just said, "That's why the song became a hit! Everyone's enjoying it, God is great."
Honestly, he’s not wrong. Even if people are watching it to make fun of him, the views are through the roof.

It’s kind of a big deal because the first Border is such a classic, and people are really protective of it. So there’s a lot of pressure on him to not mess it up with too much "Varun-isms."
Anyway, it's cool to see a star who can take a joke without making it weird. I’m actually curious to see if he’s actually good in the movie or if the memes were right lol.
